Nigerian striker Terem Moffi revealed the number of hat-tricks he has scored in European football. The youngster scored three goals in Lorient’s 4-1 win over Bordeaux.
The 21-year-old striker is now two goals away from equalling Victor Ikpeba’s record in the Ligue 1. Ikpeba set the record – during the 1997/1998 season.
Moffi disclosed to Ouest France that his hat-trick against Bordeaux is not the first in European football because he has scored two in Lithuania.
“No, this is not my first. In Lithuania, I had already registered two. But it is the first in France. I am delighted – for me – and the team.
“I thank Trevoh Chalobah, Yoane Wissa, and Armand Lauriente for the assists. I was in the right place at the right time.
His first-two hat-trick in European football was against FK Palanga on 25 September 2019 and in a 5-1 home win against Suduva two months later. He scored the ha-tricks while playing for FK Riteriai in Lithuania.
