Highly respected infrastructure guru, Ebi Egbe believes the Enyimba International Stadium has added value to his brand.

Egbe, who is the CEO of Monimichelle called for more Hybrid Synthetic Turfs in Nigeria.

He made this disclosure to Ademetan Abayomi after the CAF Confederation Cup game between Enyimba and Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night.

The Bayelsa born constructor also shed more light on the Ugborodo Stadium and other issues in this exclusive interview….

Ademetan Abayomi: It has been long we had a night game in Nigeria and the arena was really colourful. How did you made this happen?

Monimichelle: We have our brand. Our lights are materials money can buy. We had over 60 lamps on ground on Wednesday. Our lights are specially manufactured for football games. We had 16 amps at the Stadium, we had about 1800 lux. We don’t compromise when it comes to giving the best to Africa.

The Match Commissioner, CAF Facility Inspectors and Referee applauded the atmosphere. They love the turf. It’s a good thing to Nigeria. I am happy because Enyimba has always been the selling point for Monimichelle. Enyimba has added commercial to my brand.

Abayomi Ademetan: The ball flowed and there was no reason to complain. How did you made this happen?

Monimichelle: Let’s always look at the national teams and the Stadiums holitiscally. Why are our teams not playing games at the National Stadium Abuja and Lagos National Stadium?

We need Monimichelle to put these arenas back on track. Gambia Football Federation, Ghana Football Association and Sudan Football Federation have invited me all because of the Enyimba International Stadium. If you look at the fluidity of the ball, you will understand that the Aba pitch is a top class one. There is no reason why we shouldn’t replicate such in Abuja and Lagos.

The game between Enyimba and Orlando Pirates was a good one. If Enyimba International Stadium has been certified by CAF as a top class pitch then we have something good to leverage on in Nigeria which is Monimichelle.

We can’t continue to manage. Abuja and Lagos have great structure. Monimichelle has the capacity to bring these Stadiums back to life. With a sustainable infrastructure we have what it takes to do the right thing.

Ademetan Abayomi: The drainage in Aba has been praised. What is the secret to this?

Monimichelle: I have spent over 37 years in the industry. I have in depth knowledge of the game. I attend different seminars all the world. My ears and eyes are on ground to the latest technology in the industry.

As a matter of fact the latest grass has drainage system. Every part of the grass is a drainage system. These grasses are specially manufactured for Monimichelle. We understand what Africa wants. From 4:15am to 5:20am on Wednesday morning there was torrential rain. Within 10 minutes the pitch was dry.

On Hybrid Synthetic Pitch, the fluidity is fast. Look at the Stadium in Aba, there was no flakes on Wednesday night. It was a fast ball movement. When the ball bounces, you will get a natural bounce. When you pass the ball, it will give you a natural movement.

Ademetan Abayomi: What are the other projects that Monimichelle is embarking on in 2021?

Monimichelle: We have the FIFA Goal Project at the Ugborodo Community. My boss at the NFF, Mr Melvin Pinnick Amaju said that FIFA President Gianni Infantino will commission the project in Ugborodo.

We will be in Abidjan next week, and proceed to Ghana a week after. We have a whole lot of projects to complete. We are also involved in construction like Basketball and Athletics tracks. Our major area is Hybrid Synthetic Turfs.

Ademetan Abayomi: Apart from the Enyimba International Stadium, what are the other arenas that being constructed by Monimichelle?

Monimichelle: Some of our works are Samson Siasia Stadium, Remo Stars Stadium, Aper Aku Stadium and Mohammodu Dikko Stadium.
