Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has revealed plans to stop Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of the game against Leicester City. The Saints face the Foxes on Friday at the Saint Mary’s Stadium.

Ahead of the game, the Austrian tactician admitted that Iheanacho was clinical, but he was not involved in his all-around performance.

“He (Iheanacho) did a good job in the last game, he has one chance, and this chance was a goal – so the rest of the game, I didn’t see him, to be honest.

He revealed that they must be careful while dealing with him and deny him chances around the box.

“You must be careful, don’t give him the chance in and around the box, he has a good finish, self-confident at the moment.

“Premier League teams have strikers that are strong, and they can hurt you.”

The Nigerian striker has scored ten goals, created one assist in twenty Premier League games. He has scored nine goals in his last seven league appearances.

Kelechi Iheanacho only failed to score in Leicester City’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City. In nine games against Southampton in all competitions, Iheanacho has scored four games.
