Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has reacted to the goal he scored in Genk 1-1 draw against Anderlecht on Wednesday. The Nigerian striker scored the equalizer after Anouar Ait El Hadj put the visitors in front in the 33rd minute.
Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, Onuachu stated that the team wanted the three points, but they will accept the draw because it is better than losing the game.
“We wanted the three points today, but we cannot complain about this draw.
“1-1 is better than losing. It was an open game. It was basically attacks over and over again. Over time, fatigue will inevitably kick in.”
The goal was Onuachu’s 34th goal in all competitions. However, the result leaves Genk with four points behind Club Brugge ahead of a return leg against Anderlecht on Saturday.
