Rashidi Yekini: Who will break his AFCON goal-scoring record?

In Nigeria, no player has scored more goals in the history of Africa Cup of Nations than Rashidi Yekini.

The 58-capped player netted 13 goals in 4 editions for Super Eagles. He notched 37 goals for the national team in a 14-year career, a national record.

Yekini was among the Nigeria team that won AFCON title in 1994.

Following is how Yekini scored his 13 Africa Cup of Nations goals;

Kenya 3-0 1988 African Cup of Nations 1
Egypt 1-0 1990 African Cup of Nations 1
Ivory Coast 1-0 1990 African Cup of Nations 1
Zambia 2-0 1990 African Cup of Nations 1
Kenya 2-1 1992 African Cup of Nations 2
DRC 1-0 1992 African Cup of Nations 1
Cameroon 2-1 1992 African Cup of Nations 1
Gabon 3-0 1994 African Cup of Nations 2
DRC 2-0 1994 African Cup of Nations 2
Ivory Coast 2-2 1994 African Cup of Nations 1
The current Super Eagles team is filled with young players. Maybe Victor Osimhen or Kelechi Iheanacho could have a go at the record in future.
