Ighalo’s brace and assist not enough as Al Shabab bow to Al-Ettifaq in seven-goal thriller

Retired Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo bagged a brace and assist as Al Shabab lost 4-3 to Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Arabian Premier League on Friday.

The former Manchester United forward put Al Shaban in front in the 11th minute.

A 22nd minute spot kick from Ighalo increased the tally for Al Shabab.

Walid Azarou pulled one back before half time.

Three minutes into the second half, Souleymane Doukara equalised from
Mohammed Marzouq Al Kuwaykibi’s assist.

Azarou struck to fire Al-Ettifaq ahead for the first time in the game.

Ighalo, 31, assisted Fabio Martins’ 75th minute equaliser for the visiting team.

Less than eight minutes from time, Mohammed Marzouq Al Kuwaykibi popped up with the winner.

Odion Ighalo has scored five goals in six games for Al Shabab this term.
