Southampton coach hails Nigeria youngster after the win against Fulham.

Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhüttl praised the Nigerian youngster Nathan Tella for his display against Fulham on Saturday. The Saints won the game by 3-1.        

The Nigerian wingers scored a goal and assisted one despite coming from the bench two minutes before the hour mark. The goal and assist are his first in the Premier League.

After the game, the Southampton manager highlighted the speed of the youngster as his biggest asset. He also named him the – biggest talent of the academy this season. 

“He’s always smiling. He is honest because he enjoys what he’s doing. He sprints with a smile on his face because he likes to sprint.

“Sometimes he sprints more in 20 minutes than others in 90 minutes. This is an important season for him. We tried to give him game-time. The way we have – tried to develop him is a good one.

“He’s the biggest talent we have at the moment. He had a bad injury. I see him performing as he does at the moment – I enjoy watching it. Big praise for the academy.”


Bring his first-full season with the first team, Nathan Tella has scored a goal, created an assist in sixteen Premier League goals.
