Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho is benefitting from Jamie Vardy’s creativity according to Leicester City legend Danny Simpson.
Iheanacho has emerged as Leicester’s main source of goals this season having scored thirteen goals in his last twelve appearances across all competitions.
While Vardy is struggling to find the back of the net having netted just one goal in his last sixteen competitive matches.
However, Vardy has set up three of the eight goals netted by Iheanacho in the Foxes’ last eight games in the English Premier League.
“We talk about the goals that he [Vardy] scores, but his work-rate is second to none,” Simpson said on talkSPORT.
“He’ll be a little bit frustrated that he’s probably not scoring at the moment, but we’re also seeing a new side to his game.
“He’s setting up Kelechi (Iheanacho) and he’ll be happy for him. That’s just the way he is.”
Simpson, who is now on the books of English Championship side Bristol City, helped Leicester clinch their maiden Premier League title in the 2015/16 season.
