Nigeria Team Of The Week: Onuachu, Ighalo, Odey, Ndidi, Simy & Okoye Show Class

Odion Ighalo, Stephen Odey and Ezekiel Henty all scored two goals each, as Ademetan Abayomi puts together his best XI from the action.

Maduka Okoye [Sparta Rotherdam]

Could do nothing about Siem de Jong’s goal but kept Sparta Rotherdam in it when parrying several crosses out of danger. Commanding.

Brian Idowu [Khimki]

Got stuck into his defensive duties with real commitment and made sure that Sochi had no leeway. Also made several delightful runs synchronizing them with menacing crosses. Overpowering.

Semi Ajayi [West Bromwich Albion]

Whenever he was needed he was there making sure the Liverpool forwards didn’t get too much of a look in. An all-round solid game by the Arsenal product. Fundamental.

Tyrone Ebuehi [Twente]

Ebuehi was always ready in defence keeping Ado Den Haag occupied while he threatened up front. Always looking for the right pass. Supportive.

Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]

Ndidi kept the Blues at bay on several occasions. Laid off some superb passes and kept probing. Threatening.

Rabiu Ibrahim [Slovan Bratislava]

Won the battle of the midfield keeping the opposing team quiet. Always tenacious and unafraid to show his strength he covered a lot of ground, started off several attacks, broke up play and made a couple of important recovery tackles. Intimidating.

Ezekiel Henty [Slovan Bratislava]

Caused real problems for Zlate Moravce every time he got the ball, inspiring with a brace. Unapproachable.

Paul Onuachu [Genk]

Absolutely crackled out upfront, causing no end of pain for the Anderletch defence with his dangerous runs. Finally topped a great performance with a goal. Menacing.

Stephen Odey [Amiens]

A great day at the office for the revitalised striker, with two goals for Amiens. Magnificent.

Odion Ighalo [Al Shabab]

A top performance by the ex-Manchester United striker who scored a double and accounted for an assist against Ettifaq. Superior.

Simy [Crotone]

Uncompromising in attack the big man was all over the Benevento defence. He was at his most dangerous in the second half when he score the leveler. Authoritative.
