Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has highlighted the reasons Samuel Kalu is having a terrible time with Bordeaux this season. The Nigerian winger has struggled for form with the Ligue 1 side this season.
According to Girondins4Ever, Rohr revealed that the consistent injuries suffered by Kalu – have hampered his performance for the Girondins.
The German tactician also hopes Samuel Kalu is well monitored and supervised by the Ligue 1 club. He hoped they – can help him recover and find his best form.
“We had invited him for Nigeria’s last game, and the Girondins told us no, that they needed him to save themselves.
“And then he got hurt… They finally sent him to Nigeria anyway, so it was kind of weird.
“Still, the boy has a lot of injuries this year. I hope he is well supervised on all levels, mentally, medically, and sportingly. Every time he plays with me, he’s good, but this season has indeed been rotten with injuries. I hope he can help the Girondins for the end of the season.
Gernot Rohr also believed the Nigerian youngster is suffering from loneliness as his family and not with him in France.
“He was also a bit lonely without his family in Bordeaux. He lacked a little family support. But it’s going to get better and better.”
Samuel Kalu played in twenty games, scored four goals, and created one assist. Of the twenty games, fourteen were as a starter, spending 973 minutes with the ball.
