Kwara United goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba has revealed his team are confident of getting a positive result against Akwa United in Uyo on Sunday.
Akwa United host Kwara United in a Matchday 24 encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) – at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The experienced goalkeeper revealed that the team has the belief of picking a positive result in Uyo.
“We are highly optimistic about winning here, and we have done it before and are ready to repeat history. Moreover, if they could come to Ilorin to slow us down, we will try and do the same as Rivers did to us.”
Dele believes the club is not having a bad second stanza of the season. He stated that it is a replica of how they started the first nineteen games.
“That’s is not true – out of nine possible points – we picked four, but this is a reminder that we have a lot to do, and we will have to push and not relent. When we first start the league, this was how we started – we are not giving up, we still have a lot of games, and we will pick more points – that is the assurance from everyone here.
He also believes Kwara United can win the NPFL title and state – the readiness of the players – to deli\ver a title at the end of the season.
“Yeah, the league is still wide open – we cannot do it alone we rely on our readiness and support. At the end of that day, we will be there together. We want to bring back something to Kwara State. So we are still on it, we still believe.
Two points separate both teams on the table – with Kwara United sitting in the third position while Akwa United are second on the NPFL table.
