As Akwa United and Kano Pillars continue their race towards the Nigeria Professional Football League title, Futbalgalore.com.ng selects the best XI from Week 24.
Here is the Team of the Week, which is deployed in the 3-4-3 formation. Let us know your thoughts!
Chijioke Ejiogu – Heartland
The veteran put in a superb display in defence against Enyimba and the former Nigeria U23 international made some crucial saves.
John Lazarus – Lobi Stars
Scored the leveller in a tight fixture, gave a solid display right of the home defence, making a couple of important tackles and interceptions.
Odey Francis – Wikki Tourists
It would be an underappreciation to disregard the vigilance of the big defender, as he completed eight clearances to deny a top form Rivers United from winning.
Olisa Ndah – Akwa United
He is not the player that would record a huge number of goals or assists every year, but every game Olisa Ndah is proving to be the next big thing if one of European club chooses to bite. A brilliant defender that tackled every Kwara United chance and was involved in Akwa United’s second goal.
Pascal Eze – Heartland
The Heartland commander, had one epic display at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday and combined well with Austin Opara.
Ebuka Anaekwe – Nasarawa United
Arguably the full back’s best performance since joining the Solid Miners, as he reigned over the left flank with his slaloming runs and managed to shock the visitors with the winner.
Tamara Ezekiel – Kano Pillars
Whenever Pillars attacked, he played the right passes and used the ball wisely. Tamara showed quality in the draw at Plateau United.
Emeka Atuloma – Heartland
Atuloma showed that he is clearly the main creator in the Heartland midfield. Another peerless performance in the middle of the park.
Oladayo Alabi – MFM FC
Was the hero in his team’s win against Dakkada, displaying the instincts of an excellent talent with a romantic goal.
Stephen Gopey – Wikki Tourists
The striker was once again hard for opposition defenders to control with his strength and speed. Scored Wikki’s goal against Rivers and then went close with a screamer.
Nasiru Jibril – Akwa United
Played a vital part in the Akwa United ending their winless run of two games. Scored the second goal with a sweet tap in.
