Spartak Trnava defender Izuchukwu Anthony believes he is destined to become the captain of Nigeria in future.
The 23-year-old’s career has seen him play for Haugesund, Jerv and Nest-Sotra in the past.
Izuchukwu was an unused substitute as the Super Eagles drew goalless with Cameroon in an international friendly on Tuesday night.
Asked on his impression of the game, he said: “We could have done better, the result also is not a bad one. Cameroon is also a decent team, but I think we were better.
The former Nigeria U23 international wasn’t disappointed with his lack of game time against Cameroon but reiterated the desire to Captain the Super Eagles in future.
“I believe it’s not how you start, it is how well you finish. I will captain the Super Eagles one day,” he concluded.
