Olarenwaju Kayode has been linked with a sensational return to Turkey.
According to Futbalgalore.com.ng, Super Lig club Besiktas are eager to sign the Nigerian forward, who previously enjoyed successful loan stints at both Gaziantep FK and Sivasppor.
Kayode joined Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar Doneskt from Manchester City back in 2018
The 28-year-old has struggled for game time at
Donbass Arena, but despite Kayode’s desire to stay in Ukraine and push for a regular starting spot in Roberto De Zerbi’s first team next season, the club seem open to selling the Nigerian.
Shakhtar Doneskt are believed to have lowered their asking price for Kayode to €4m, a sum Besiktas are reportedly willing to match.
The former Nigeria U17 international featured 40 times on loan at Sivasspor last season and scored 11 goals.
He played no part in Nigeria’s recent international friendlies with Cameroon.
