Victor Sochima – Jigawa Golden Stars
Those series of saves against Pillars could prove the difference in the relegation battle, with Jigawa Golden Stars winning 1-0 in the derby.
Etim Matthew – Akwa United
Matthew has been a rock in the Akwa United defence since this season and he had another solid display last weekend. Coped better with Adamawa United counterattacks and relied on his experience.
Tebo Franklin – Nasarawa United
The best defender in NPFL this season, no doubt. So far he’s been almost perfect in every game, and especially so on Sunday afternoon against Enyimba. Sublime defending!
Mutiu Ogundimu – Lobi Stars
Ogundimu anticipated the opposition’s attacking moves perfectly, and did well in the aerial challenges. Lobi Stars can now properly fight for a continental ticket.
Chigozie Obasi – Nasarawa United
If Nasarawa United can still hope for a continental spot, a lot of the merit is Obasi’s, who was brilliant in the draw against Enyimba. He slots in at left back.
Tony Shimaga – Rangers
A battle in midfield and solidity. Rangers fought like Trojans and were rewarded with a point at Dakkada. Shimaga showed all his character on the pitch.
Sadeeq Yusuf – Sunshine Stars
Sunshine Stars could have mentally collapsed after the events that overshadowed their season due to paucity of funds. Sadeeq Yusuf took responsibility to lead his teammates back to normality on the pitch. And he did it magnificently, with his charisma supporting the team. Then he bagged a brace.
Shedrack Asiegbu – Rangers
What a goal. A stunning strike at the Nest of Champions. That would be enough to get into this team. Add to it that he scored it in the final minute to give Rangers the draw.
Monday Akile – Lobi Stars
Deployed in attack, he put together a performance of quality and defensive skills, scoring and assisting in the win over Kwara United.
Charles Atshimene – Akwa United
Charles Atshimene wins on his own, when he wants. That was what he did, scoring a goal against Adamawa United in Uyo.
Mohammed Zulkifilu – Plateau United
He could not have chosen a better moment to increase his account, as Plateau devoured Wolves 2-0.
