Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has hailed the patience of his team’s Chairman Kaizer Motaung.
Chiefs booked a spot in the CAF Champions League final with a 1-0 aggregate win over the Moroccan giants following a goalless draw on Saturday.
Amakhosi had Akpeyi to thank for the 0-0 stalemate at FNB Stadium. He pull off seven saves to prevent Faouzi Benzarti’s men from getting back into the match.
In an Instagram post, the Nigeria international was full of praise for the 76-year-old, claiming his patience has been rewarded.
“You deserve the smile Mr Chairman, you’ve been patient through the years, you are a true reflection of hard work with faith and patience do pay off,” the 34-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Akpeyi has made 18 appearances for Nigeria at international level. He is expected to be involved in Super Eagles’ World Cup qualification roster.
