Alan Pulido has withdrawn from the Mexico squad for the friendly with Nigeria, Futbalgalore.com.ng reports.
The prolific striker scored for Sporting Kansas City in a 2-1 victory against the Los Angeles FC during a Major League Soccer game last weekend.
After the match it was reported that 30-year-old suffered a cut near his right ankle after he tried to take a shot from outside the box and hit the studs of a defender from LAFC.
The former Guadalajara striker had to be replaced in the 76th minute, because he couldn’t step on his right foot.
Pulido has scored six goals and given one assist in 10 league appearances during the 2021 Major League Soccer regular season.
Nigeria and Mexico will clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Los Angeles, California) on 4th July.
