Nigerian striker Stephen Odey is unsure exactly where he will be playing his club football in the 2021-22 season, reports.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Amiens SC, making 28 appearances and scoring six goals for the French Ligue 2 side.

With that loan deal expired, Odey has been frozen out of the first team of parent club Genk by coach John van den Brom.

The coach has reportedly told the striker to look elsewhere for playing time.

The Nigerian international signed for Genk in July 2019 for a €3.5m fee. He made 11 appearances in the top-tier during his first season under Felice Mazzu, but was rarely utilised by current manager John van den Brom when the latter arrived at Genk in November 2019.

Amiens had an option to purchase Ofey at the end of that loan in 2021, but didn’t pursue this permanent deal.

Odey has also played for MFM FC and FC Zurich in his club career, while at international level he has accumulated 2 caps for Nigeria.
