Akpeyi tipped to start CAF Champions League final

Kaizer Chiefs have very little to complain about when it comes to their last line of defence.

Chiefs enjoyed a fairy-tale run to the CAF Champions League final, where they will face a Pitso Mosimane-led Al Ahly in Casablanca.

Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi deserves commendation for his contribution to Chiefs magical run.

He will be competing with Itumeleng Khune and Bruce Bvuma for the number one spot.

Statistically, Akpeyi is the best goalkeeper in the Champions League this season. The Nigerian has not conceded a goal in a single CAF Champions League match this season. The 34-year-old featured in six matches in total and has a 100% record of not conceding in over seven hours of football.

The pendulum is in his favour to start against the Egyptian side tonight.
