Omonia Nicosia have secured the loan signing of Dinamo Zagreb winger Iyayi Atiemwen for a season.

Atiemwen featured on 18 occasions for Dinamo last season as the Zagreb outfit won the Croatian 1.HNL title.

However, the ex Erciyesspor star has dropped down the pecking order, and it has resulted in the 25-year-old being allowed to gain first-team football elsewhere.

Clubs in Turkey had been linked with an approach, but Atiemwen will instead move to Cyprus to play for top-flight outfit Omonia Nicosia.

Former Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia was the first national team coach to spot the potential of Iyayi and handed him a call-up for the international friendly against Brazil before the 2016 Olympic Games.

After spells in Turkey with Manisaspor, Sanliurfaspor, Caykur Rizespor, and HNK Gorica, the Bendel Insurance product has matured to become a top player since moving to Dinamo Zagreb in January 2019.

His versatility means he can be deployed as an attacking midfielder, left midfielder and left winger.

He has been scouted by AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Empoli, Parma, Gijon, Mainz and Alaves in the past.
