Goals from Juhan Hove and Nigerian striker Fred Friday – fifth of the league campaign – helped Strømsgodset overcome Stabaek in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday, Futbalgalore.com.ng reports.
Oliver Valaker Edvardsen surprisingly handed Stabeak the lead on the half hour mark at Marienlyst Stadion (Drammen).
Seven minutes later, though, Hove the hosts were on level terms.
Hove assisted Friday’s 80th minute winner.
The hosts however held on for the three maximum points that lift the Godset into 10th position on the 12-team table with 16 points.
The winning goal against Stabaek takes Friday’s tally to five from 12 league games, with the former AZ Alkmaar forward netting four of those in his last five games.
A lot was expected of Friday when he made the big jump to Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in July 2016 for over a million Euros.
But it was mostly a difficult time for the powerfully-built centre-forward in Holland and it was ended in January 2020, when he was released by Alkmaar. He also played on loan at Sparta Rotherdam and FC Twente.
In January, he signed as a free agent for Stromgodset.
His contract is till December 2022.
