Liverpool are expected to sell forward Taiwo Awoniyi to Union Berlin for £6.5m.
Nigerian Awoniyi, 23, scored five goals in 22 games on loan at German side Union Berlin last season.
Reds have also negotiated the condition of 10% sell-on clause for the deal.
The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in 2015 but has only just qualified for a UK work permit, meaning that he has spent his first six years with the Reds away from Anfield on loans.
Awoniyi’s most recent loan spell was with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga during the 2020-21 campaign, when he scored five goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances for the club.
He has been on loan at FSV Frankfurt, NEC Nijmegen, Royal Excel Mouscron, Gent, Mainz and Union Berlin during his time at Liverpool.
Awoniyi’s contract at Anfield runs until 2023, after he initially came through the Imperial Soccer Academy in his home country.
