Southampton are battling Arsenal, West Ham United, Watford, Brighton and Hove Albion for Genk striker Paul Onuachu, Futbalgalore.com.ng reports.

It’s stated that Brighton are ‘exploring’ ways to sign Onuachu in an effort to bolster Graham Potter’s striking options this summer.

They’re not alone in the race though, with Southampton also keen – but Genk want a huge fee of around €30million (£26million) for their star striker.

Onuachu, 27, joined Genk from Midtjylland in Denmark back in 2019, and he really starred for the Belgian side last season.

The Nigerian hit a ridiculous 35 goals and five assists in 41 games for Genk last season, but it wasn’t enough to win the title.

Onuachu stands at a huge 6ft 7in tall, and has admitted that he would like to sign for Arsenal if he is going to make a move this summer.

He could well end up in England if Southampton get their way, though it’s not quite the Arsenal move the wants.

If Onuachu signs, though it’s understandably hard to ignore his unbelievable goalscoring exploits in Belgium.
