The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced the new date for the postponed Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw.
All 24 spots for the 2021 AFCON have been filled, as the qualifiers ended earlier this year. Nigeria finished on top of Group L with 14 points.
The draw for the tournament was initially scheduled for 25 June, but at the Confederation of African Football’s request to push it due to Covid-19 related reasons, the draw was postponed.
Now, the Cameroon Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and CAF have revealed that the draw will be held next Tuesday, August 17.
The 24 teams will be divided in six groups of four teams each, with the tournament scheduled to start on January 9, 2022 until February 6, 2022.
