With just over 72 hours to go until they step out in Lagos for their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Liberia, Nigeria’s players were put through their paces in their training session.
Gernot Rohr and his squad looked in high spirits during the workout, ahead of their Group C opener with the Lone Stars at Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The playing squad took part in the session in Lagos, with Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Henry Onyekuru and Wilfred Ndidi pictured smiling.
Also spotted in the archive are Leon Balogun, Tyrone Ebuehi, Ola Aina and William Troost-Ekong.
The Super Eagles squad are now ready to leave overpower Lone Stars in Surulere, where they hope to start the Qualifiers with three points.
There appears to be a very positive mood in the camp ahead of the Liberian test.
Friday’s battle will be the first FIFA World Cup qualifying game in Lagos since the Eagles defeated the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in a 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the adjacent National Stadium, Surulere in June 2000.
Meanwhile, the 5,000-capacity Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena on the island of Mindelo will host the Day 2 clash between the Super Eagles and the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.
That game will hold on Tuesday, 7th September, with the Super Eagles set to fly out of Lagos aboard a chartered jet on Monday, 6th September and return to Nigeria immediately after the match.
