President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC), Prince Vincent Okumagba has congratulated the Super Eagles for starting their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on a winning note.
Two first half goals from Kelechi Iheanacho were enough to propel the Nigerian side to victory.
Speaking immediately after the match, Prince Okumagba who led members from different states at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos to cheer the team, hailed the team’s doggedness and “never-say-die spirit”.
“This is a good start for our darling team. They showed character, zeal and above all, the winning mentality came to play.
“I must salute their bravery as this will indeed boost their morale ahead of the away match against Cape Verde”.
The astute administrator praised his members for defying the rains to cheer the team to victory even as he assured the Eagles of massive support ahead of Tuesday’s game against Cape Verde at the Aderito Sena Stadium.
“Special salute to my members for showing the true “Naija” spirit despite the rains – gave us melodious tunes as the team got massive three points”.
The Super Eagles are top of Group C with three points, while Cape Verde and Central African Republic are second and third respectively after they drew 1-1.
