Abia Warriors Chairman, Pastor Emeka Inyama said that there are no ongoing negotiations between the club and Enyimba regarding a possible deal for Adekunle Adeleke.
The Super Eagles defender joined the Umuahia Warriors during 2019-2020 season from Go Round FC.
The 19-year-old has made good impact with Warriors, making a total of 41 appearances in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
As a result, he has been constantly linked with a move away from Abia Warriors.
Many reports suggested that Adeleke would join Nigerian giants Enyimba.
These rumors were quickly debunked by the club’s Chairman, Pastor Inyama, who assured that they have no intentions of selling the reliable defender.
“Any club that needs our players do these officially. We haven’t received any offer for his services,” Pastor Inyama informed Futbalgalore.com.ng in an exclusive interview on Wednesday afternoon.
“Every correspondence from the national team to the boy was through us. He still remains on our books and nothing has changed.”
“Adekunle Adeleke is our player, he is contracted to Abia Warriors until 2023. The boy is an important player for us.”
“Enyimba haven’t even enquired about the possibility of a deal for the youngster. The rumour is alien to me. Our players who joined Enyimba did this in a proper way. I’m surprised to read about Adekunle on the move to Aba.
“We are a business oriented entity who like clubs to deal with us in an official way,” he added.
