We have so many talented football stars who have represented the Super Eagles of Nigeria over the past twenty years. The likes of Peter Odemwingie and Victor Moses have contributed immensely to the development of football within Nigeria. However, there are some football players who have rejected the opportunity to play for Nigeria. Let us take a look at some Igbo stars who refused to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

1. Jordan Ibe

The former Liverpool star is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. This is because of the fact that his biological father is an Igbo man. However, he refused to switch international allegiance from England to Nigeria. It should also be said that he has never made a competitive appearance for the English national team.

2. Angelo Ogbonna

He currently plays for West Ham United in the English Premier League. He is also regarded as one of the most experienced central defenders in the English first division. However, he decided to represent the Italian national team instead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

3. Eberechi Eze

He has been in tremendous form since he moved to Crystal Palace about one year ago. It is also important to note the fact that he is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. However, he has not decided to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria.
