Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi was exceptional for German Bundesliga side Union Berlin on Thursday evening, as he came off the bench to score a fine goal for the team, in their remarkable 3-0 home victory over Israeli Premier League giants Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The former Liverpool football club of England attacker was dropped to the bench by coach Urs Fischer and he was able to impress in the second half of the game.
Taiwo Awoniyi was introduced in the 73rd minute.
Germany star Andreas Volgsammer opened scoring for the home team in the 33rd minute to end the first half 1-0.
Kevin Behrens doubled the lead in the 48th minute, before Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi scored the last goal of the game in the 76th minute to end the match 3-0.
The Nigerian international was exceptional for the home team after being introduced to the pitch in the second half, and he was able to mark his excellent performance with a beautiful goal.
