Nigeria striker John Okoli was voted man-of-the-match on Tuesday afternoon following his match-winning performance for Al Mokawloon in their home win against Sharkia Lel Dokhan in the Egyptian Premier League.
Okoli who made his debut scored for Al Mokawloon who pipped the visiting team 1-0 at the Arab Contractors Stadium (Osman Ahmed Osman Stadium) (al-Qāhirah (Cairo)).
Despite spending 60 minutes on the pitch, the pacy forward earned the man of the match award.
After handing head coach Emad El-Nahas a new contract, Al Mokawloon signed the likes of Mohamed Talaat, Mamadou Niass, Emad Fathi, Omar Bassam, Oussema Romdhani, Ahmed Magdy and John Okoli.
Okoli, 24, joined from Bengali club Saif Sporting on a free transfer, having scored 17 goals and assisted five in 22 games in the Bangladesh Premier League last season, sitting third in the top-scoring charts.
Ahead of his time in Asia, Okoli had several spells in Cyprus with Yenicami AK, Gönyeli SK, and Göcmenköy IYSK and with Nigerian club MFM FC.
