Nigeria striker John Okoli scored on his debut for Al Mokawloon against El Sharkia Lel Dokhan in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.

The forward scored in the 17th minute at the Arab Contractors Stadium (Osman Ahmed Osman Stadium) (al-Qāhirah (Cairo)) with a fine finish and was a constant threat to the defence of the away side.

He was subbed off for Omar Bassam on the hour mark by coach Emad El Nahhas.

After handing head coach Emad El-Nahas a new contract, Al Mokawloon signed the likes of Mohamed Talaat, Mamadou Niass, Emad Fathi, Omar Bassam, Oussema Romdhani, Ahmed Magdy and John Okoli.

Okoli, 24, joined from Bengali club Saif Sporting on a free transfer, having scored 17 goals and assisted five in 22 games in the Bangladesh Premier League last season, sitting third in the top-scoring charts.

Ahead of his time in Asia, Okoli had several spells in Cyprus with Yenicami AK, Gönyeli SK, and Göcmenköy IYSK and with Nigerian club MFM FC.
