The three-time African champions will be facing Liberia on day 5 of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at Grand Stade de Tangier on Saturday night.

Head coach Gernot Rohr has already given hints of the starters after yesterday’s training session.

A top official of the team revealed to that the coach isn’t taking any chances in his quest to ensure that Nigeria pick a win against Lone Stars.

“The coach is happy with the response and contributions of the lads in camp,” the official said.

“He has already made up his mind on the players to start the game. I can confirm this simple fact.”

“Looking at the last game, he played with three at the back and relied on the form of his two wing backs. I don’t think he will want to play this formation with the return of Wilfred Ndidi to the team,” he explained.

“Ndidi, Osimhen, Victor Osimhen, Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho are sure starters.

“If you look at the last three games, the likes of Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke were very effective for us. They played their parts for us. But we have Samuel Chukwueze who is back in the team after the injury lay off and you know what this means.

“As for the backline, the coach has settled for his choices with William Troost-Ekong and Ola Aina expected to start. Chidozie Awaziem showed real quality against Central African Republic but Rohr doesn’t joke with Leon Balogun someone he rates highly.

“Kaizer Chiefs keeper Daniel Akpeyi has really impressed Rohr but you know Maduka Okoye remains our first choice. He will retain his place.

“With what I have seen so far in training, I believe Rohr will prefer to make Ighalo, Chidera Ejuke and Simon as impact players in the second half. There is also the dilemma of Zaidu Sanusi who has returned to form but Jamilu Collins has held his own very well. Fingers crossed, we are winning on Saturday with the line up Rohr will field in Morocco,” he added.

Saturday’s match will kick off at 5pm Morocco time.
