Al Shabab star striker Odion Ighalo is expected to join Super Eagles training camp in Abuja, Nigeria on Monday, understands

The Nigeria national team have pitched their camp base in nation’s capital since December 29 as they prepare for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations this month.

The 32-year-old delayed to join his team mates following an agreement between CAF and foreign clubs to allow invited players stay on until 3rd January.

Ighalo was impressive for Al Shabab on Saturday night when the White Lion defeated Al-Ahli with two goals at Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium (Jeddah).

The former Manchester United striker will be key to the Super Eagles during the AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

Nigeria are drawn in Group D where they will face Egypt in the opening group game on Tuesday 11 January 2022.

The Super Eagles will then take on Sudan on 15 January and the last group match against Guinea Bissau on 19 January.
