Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles will take care of Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group D game on Tuesday.
The streets of Garoua was filled with excitement from fans as the 33rd AFCON got underway on Sunday.
Cameroon edged Burkina Faso 2-1 in the opening game while Cape Verde overcame 10-man Ethiopia 1-0.
“The atmosphere was expected to be exciting. Everywhere has been busy right now because the AFCON is a big tournament,” Akpeyi told Futbalgalore.com.ng.
Akpeyi assured Nigerians that the goalkeeping department and entire team are prepared for the Pharaohs led by Mohamed Salah.
“The goalkeeping department is not just preparing for Salah but the entire Egypt team. We are ready for every single person on the pitch.
“So far the Goalkeepers that have been playing are doing well.
“Nigeria is blessed to have good crop of players. The fans always expect results from the team. The players are good to go. What we need from Nigerians is their support. Heart to heart and mind to mind.
