Debutant Maduka Okoye was impressive for Super Eagles in their 1-0 victory over Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper secured his first shut-out of the tournament after helping Nigeria to a 1-0 win over Pharaohs in Garoua.

This included denying Mohamed Salah on one on one situation.

Okoye who also praised Kenneth Omeruo who was rocky in the game.

“It feels great, I think I need to give thanks to the team because we played very well. I am very happy to get the cleansheet today (Tuesday),” he told at the Mixed Zone.

“Salah is one of the best players in the world. We have fantastic midfielders and they did a great job. We were sharp and gave them no chance.”

“Omeruo did very well and gave a good account of himself. He was very important for us. We have to continue to stick to us and give our best,” he added.
