Super Eagles central defender Chidozie Awaziem is expected to resume training soon after picking an injury, according to his manager Augustine Eguavoen.
The former Boavista enforcer is yet to feature at the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.
Awaziem was part of the group that trained on Monday before the Group D game against Egypt.
He didn’t dress for the 1-0 win over Pharaohs and has been absent from the team’s training in the last two days. This increased speculation in the Media that he is injured.
Eguavoen did well to address the current situation of the multi dimensional defender.
Speaking at the World Press Conference attended by Futbalgalore.com.ng on Friday morning, Eguavoen said, “Hopefully, he will be back soon. It is beyond our control, the doctors are working with him.”
“Awaziem is still down.
“He had an ankle injury as much as I know.”
“Chidozie Awaziem is going to back very soon.
The former Enyimba boss also promised to ensure that the Super Eagles maintain the momentum when they face Sudan on Friday.
“We are not losing steam,” he continued.
“The boys understand this basic thing. We are focused and have talked to ourselves.
“We need to keep our eyes on set target. We don’t expect every game to go smooth but we won’t try to win every match.
