Moses Simon appeared to have taken a swipe at former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr during the World Press Conference ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group D game against Sudan.
The Nigeria team caused an upset against Egypt by defeating them 1-0 on Tuesday.
Simon was impressive as the Augustine Eguavoen led Super Eagles showed quality to defeat Pharaohs, something which was lacking under Gernot Rohr.
“It’s one of my best games in the last two years,” Simon said at at the Press Conference attended by Futbalgalore.com.ng on Friday.
The Nantes forward admitted me that the decision to sack Rohr gave Super Eagles new direction.
“We changed the coach and tactics. Every coach has his own mentality.”
“With the current coach (Eguavoen), he gave me the freedom to express myself. It really helped me a lot,” he added.
Nigeria will face Sudan on Saturday. Kickoff is 5pm.
