In life, everyone loves a great success story and celebration greets achievement. For Victor Osimhen, life as a footballer started in a tough way for the young striker on the streets of Olusosun.
The attacker grew up in the Ghetto and struggled to survive with his family.
At the age of 17, the powerful forward finally got his big move to the top flight of German football with VfL Wolfsburg after an extremely impressive performance with Nigeria at the 2015 U17 World Cup. To get this dream move is the least that he deserved for the hard work he has put in to get to that level because life was not always easy for the Nigerian. Starting off in the top tier with Wolfsburg was very tough.
To have this problem did very little to motivate Osimhen and he was not getting things right during the early part of his career but instead he would work harder and harder to hopefully play at a level where he would not have to worry. Osimhen decided to take the daunting step to go out on loan to Sporting Charleroi in the 2018/19 season and this would be the turning point in the players career. After scoring 20 goals he made a move to Lille as a new man and the goals were flowing.
Another impressive spell followed, this time with Lille where he netted 13 goals in 27 games. It was Napoli who came calling for the attacker’s signature and picked him up for a fee of around €71m.
This Season Osimhen has become somewhat of a cult hero amongst Calcio fans due to his hardworking mentality. He has bagged 14 league goals this season.
Osimhen is such a hardworking striker who has been through so much in his career which he must be given a lot of credit for. From the very brink, he managed to motivate himself and the hard work has paid off with him now living everyone’s dream. He will always be recognised for his work rate and scoring ability and would be a valuable asset to any team.
