Azeez Mohammed said he was “happy” with his players after delivering Kwara United’s 13th win in the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season in his first game in charge with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.

Samad Kadiri netted from the penalty spot as Azeez Mohammed made an instant impact after replacing USA-bound Abdullahi Biffo during the week.

“The most important thing was to win, no matter how. The boys are happy and that’s what I really wanted,” he mused to

“We have to carry on momentum and keep winning. There is still a lot to work on and we need to improve from now on.”

“Kwara United players did their best during the game and they managed to repel Akwa United’s counter attacks,” he added.

“We had more scoring chances during the game as we played in an organised way that helped us to win,” the Kwara United coach said.

The win sees Kwara United maintain fifth in the league table, but still two points behind Rangers in third spot.
