Villarreal are reportedly planning to move for Almeria striker Umar Sadiq should West Ham United linked Arnaut Danjuma leaves the club.

After joining the Yellow Submarine from Bournemouth last summer, the 25-year-old enjoyed a prolific 2021-22 campaign in front of goal, scoring 16 times and providing four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Danjuma’s impressive form in both La Liga and the Champions League is understood to have altered a number of top European clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Sadiq has emerged as a target for Unai Emery’s side, who have used a data consulting company to keep tabs on the striker’s performances.

The 25-year-old boasts 38 goals and 19 assists from 74 games in the La Liga 2 and helped Almeria gain promotion to the top flight last season.

Sadiq is under contract at Almeria until 2025, though, and it would reportedly take a fee of €25m to sign him next summer.
