With their 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations campaign kicking off against Group C rivals South Africa on Monday, Randy Waldrum must now decide on his starting line-up.

Skipper Onome Ebi played a key role in Nigeria’s run to the 2020 title, so it comes as no surprise that Futbalgalore.com.ng make her one of the two defenders most likely to start the Super Falcons’ opener in Morocco.

The odds suggest Leicester City centre-back Ashleigh Plumtree will be her partner with Michelle Alozie and Glory Ogbonna in the full-back slots, ahead of Tochukwu Oluehi in goal.

Further upfield, Benfica grafter Christy Ucheibe is a strong favourite for a starting berth. She could be joined in the centre of the park by Sevilla playmaker Tony Payne and ageless Rita Chikwelu.

In attack, Ifeoma Onumonu appears a shoo-in to start at centre-forward.

Onumonu could be supported by Asisat Oshoala and Rasheedat Ajibade, both of whom shone for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid last season.
