One of the fastest growing football clubs in Nigeria, Smart City, Lagos has signed a football partnership agreement with Belgian Pro League giants Anderlecht.

The deal was sealed at the weekend following Anderlecht’s home game against KV Oostende at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

Speaking after the partnership was made official, President of Smart City, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye said that the partnership would enable the Lagos based team to be sending young talented Nigerian footballers to Belgium.

His words, “The main objective of the partnership is development of football.”

“Anderlecht Chairman, Wouter Vandenhaute is passionate about taking football to the highest level.”

“Since Nigeria has some of best talents in Africa, Anderlecht decided to partner with Smart City,” the Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Sports added.
