Remo Stars humbled Shooting Stars 3-1 during the Value Jet Cup on Monday.

New signings Adams Olamilekan, Edidiong Ezekiel and Aniekeme Okon all scored as the Sky Blue Stars kept up their 100 per cent record in Group A.

The Dan Ogunmodede tutored team advanced to nine points and thus advanced to the semi final.

Shooting Stars silenced the hosts on two minutes. Opeoluwa Femi netted the opener after taking advantage of a defensive error from Remo Stars.

Eight minutes later, the Sky Blue Stars levelled up. Edidiong was hacked down by goalkeeper Dede Dare inside the area and Olamilekan stepped up to convert the spot kick.

The two sides poured men forward in search of victory as fans enjoyed every moment of artistry displayed in Ikenne.

In the 63rd minute, Remo Stars went ahead. Qudus Akanni‚Äôs initial effort was saved by Dede but Edidiong’s rebound was unstoppable for the shot stopper.

Shooting Stars were reduced to 10 men when Alex Aghahowa illegally hacked down Godwin Odibo in the box, prompting the referee to point to the penalty spot.

Former Kano Pillars and Akwa United attacking midfielder Okon scored the resultant penalty kick as Remo Stars won 3-1.
