Niger Tornadoes new signing Taofeek Babatunde has revealed he received offers elsewhere but opted to join the Ikon Allah Boys as the perfect platform to build his career and also the prospect of playing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Offa born winger has signed for the NPFL side on a two-year deal.
Babatunde and his other teammates were unveiled in Minna on Thursday afternoon.
“I received many offers but I decided to choose Niger Tornadoes because they were one of the clubs I always wanted to join. I am happy with the opportunity to play under coach Abubakar Bala,” the former Offa FC forward told Futbalgalore.com.ng.
“I also chose Tornadoes because I knew they are a club that will be the next step for me to build my career. Also, the NPFL will help me improve my career.
A lot of expectations have fallen on Taofeek Babatunde’s shoulders for goals at Niger Tornadoes.
“I’m going to do my best and try all I can to help them achieve all their goals,” said Babatunde.
“I want to be among the 2022/23 season strikers to score the most goals at the end of the campaign and also help the club be on top of the log.
“My style of play, I would say I have the ability to shoot. I have the strength, speed and I have some little qualities I knew will help me to prove a point when I join Niger Tornadoes. That is why I chose this club.
“Even the reception at the club on my first day was very fantastic. The way they welcomed me in Minna and at the training ground, everything was very perfect. So I’m very happy to join Niger Tornadoes.”
