The Super Eagles will face the Algerian national team in an international friendly next Tuesday at Constantine.
A lot of the players would be hoping to prove themselves and stamp their authority in the game against the Fennecs.
Portuguese born tactician Jose Peseiro will be hoping to give some players the chance to stamp the authority in the team.
Below we look at five players who would be hoping they impress the gaffer in the warm up.
5. Maduka Okoye – Watford
The shot stopper has struggled to hold down a place in the Hornets team since linking up with them during the summer. He is third choice at the club.
Maduka Okoye was blamed for Super Eagles’ ouster at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and will be hoping the game against Algeria gives him the chance to impress fans and Peseiro.
4. Raphael Onyedika – Club Brugge
The role of central midfield is still a riddle for Peseiro to solve. He has tried a couple of players who have failed to perform. Step forward Onyedika who recently joined Club Brugge from Midtjylland. The Ebedei product will bring steel to the team.
3. Godwin Saviour – Casa Pasa
Jose Peseiro has shown from the onset that he is a fan of the wing play. He prefers his team to play 4-4-2 with emphasis on the wide men being functional. In Saviour, the coach has a reliable figure with so much flair.
2. Frank Onyeka – Brentford
Onyeka has been more of a squad player in the Super Eagles squad. He has the necessary qualities to show the gaffer his qualities. The enforcer has done enough at Brentford to be trusted by his coach at international level.
1. Chidera Ejuke – Hertha Berlin
A poor showing at the Africa Cup of Nations was what one will least expect from Chidera Ejuke. He has become born again since his loan move to Hertha Berlin from CSKA Moscow. With his magical foot, the winger can do wonders.
