Sharp shooter Samson Akinyoola has described his maiden Benin Republic call-up as a dream come true following his inclusion in the squad for the FIFA date in September, against Mauritania and Madagascar.

The 36 Lion product will have his first opportunity in the African country’s senior team, of which he was already a U-20 international in 2018.

“It is every boy’s dream to join the national team, so I am really proud to be selected as an 22-year-old,” Akinyoola said, as reported by

“I’m happy and now I have to show everyone that I deserve to be there.

“My goal is just to play. I do not know how many minutes I’ll get, but I am happy if I just get 10 seconds.”

Another 36 Lion trained footballer, Junior Olaitan was invited for the two games.
