The Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria have praised the 3 Nigerian representatives in the CAF confederation championships for their resilient efforts at securing victories in the first leg of the second round in the competitions.

Rivers United FC, Plateau United FC and kwara United FC all secured victories in their matches last Sunday to keep hope alive in the second leg matches of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation cup Championships respectively.

Club Owners Association said it was hard earned victories for the 3 clubs having come from behind to secure the maximum points against the 3 dreaded North African Club sides.

Rivers United FC at the Justice Amasiemeka stadium in Porthacourt defeated Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 2-1 while Plateau United FC beat Esperance of Tunisia 2-1 at the MKO stadium Abuja all in the CAF Champions League, Kwara United on the other hand defeated CAF confederation cup defending champions RS Berkane 3-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

The Association charged the 3 clubs not to rest on their oars as they have a big task to surmount in the second leg matches.

A statement by the Association jointly signed by the Chairman Chief Barr Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary Chief Alloy chukwuemeka urged the clubs to go all out from the blast of the whistle to attack their opponents as that is the best way to secure their victories.

“We commend the resilience of our 3 club representatives in the CAF championships for securing hard earned victories coming from behind. All that is needed now is for them to consolidate on it in the second legs, we wish them success” it said.

Club Owners Association assured the Clubs of maximum support and prayers to excel as Nigerian ambassadors.
