Nigeria number on goalkeeper Francis Uzoho kept yet another clean sheet for his club Omonia Nicosia in their 1-0 at home to AEL Limassol in the Cyprus top tier on Monday.
The 24 year old shot stopper has been an important player for Cyprus side Omonia in their quest to win the league table. He has kept 8th cleansheet this season.
Omonia moved to fifth in the table with 34 points from 19 matches.
Uzoho has been in a straight battle with Maduka Okoye for the Super Eagles’ top gloves recently, with the former Sparta Rotterdam signing edging the rivalry until now.
Okoye was in between the sticks for the Super Eagles during the 2021 Afcon and 2022 World Cup qualifiers and was the numero uno at the African championship in Cameroon earlier this year.
But Uzoho has been the preferred option since Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro took charge of the national team.
Francis Uzoho is reportedly wanted by clubs in France and Belgium.
