“We won’t trigger €130m release clause or include Lee in deal for Osimhen” – PSG informs Napoli

Discussions between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain failed to yield any results, sparking concerns that the agreement for Victor Osimhen might fall through.

The French club has been strongly linked with the 25-year-old Nigerian forward this summer, aiming to make a significant signing in the wake of Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid.

Osimhen’s representative, Roberto Calenda, traveled to Paris to kickstart negotiations between Napoli and PSG.

A meeting took place on Monday afternoon involving Aurelio De Laurentiis, Nasser Al Khelaifi, as well as sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos.

Reports from Calciomercato.com and Fabrizio Romano reveal that discussions between Napoli and PSG regarding Osimhen’s transfer did not advance today.

PSG made it clear that they had no plans to trigger his €130m release clause.

Napoli proposed including Kang-In Lee in the deal, but this suggestion was promptly dismissed.

PSG countered by offering Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele in return, a proposal that Napoli turned down.

With a significant gap between the two clubs, there is a real possibility that Osimhen’s potential move to PSG may collapse, leaving him at Napoli for the foreseeable future.
