El-kanemi Warriors continued their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL this season, surviving an early scare to settle scores 1-1 with Kwara United in a rescheduled match-day two clash at the El-kanemi Stadium, Maiduguri, Wednesday evening.
Risilanu Ismail stroke in the fourth minute of stoppage time to salvage a draw after substitute, Emmanuel Ogbole put Kwara United ahead in the 67th minute.
Despite head coach, Aliyu Zubairu away on national duties with the Flying Eagles, the Desert Warriors showed character and resilience to stop the Harmony Boys from taking three points back to Illorin.
El-kanemi Warriors now sit fifth on the NPFL standings with 12 points and will next face Rivers United, the only other unbeaten side in the league this season, in a match-day nine clash at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
On their part, Kwara United return home for a date with last season’s winners, Rangers International on Sunday.
